I love camping!

Except for the bugs.

And the strict rules of State and National Parks.

And the lack of electricity and other modern amenities.

And the work involved.

And the having to be outside all the time.

Seriously though, camping is something I enjoy sporadically. I much prefer to just have a campfire in someone's backyard. Maybe a camping weekend once a summer. Certainly wouldn't miss any of the SCF for it. To each his own though...

Camping is great, A good time to relax and enjoy yourself. I hate bugs too but we deal with obstacles every day.

I look at the positives over the negatives.

I think me growing up...

SCORE KANE!!!

(sorry) ... in the middle of no where took some of the appeal away from camping

FUCK FLYERS SCORE.

(sorry again) ... for me since I did it so much as a kid. I've sorta grown tired of it. It was never one of my favorite things to do in the first place. There are many things I'd personally rather do relax in the summer, like catching a Pirates game or something. But I can certainly see why some people love it...

Horesfly's are the worst. Whenever I got camping people are always like mosquitoes, mosquitoes. I say mosquitoes don't do shit it's the horseflies that suck (literally). Make sure to stock up on deep woods off.

Camping is great, but backpacking is even better!
Just came back from overnighter in Harriman. Met some interesting creatures along the way

Automattic, if you ever want to do some serious camping, you just look up old superflyer13 here in the heart of the Rockies and I will take you places only God has seen. Of course there is a little hiking involved but I think you could handle it. If you find yourself in need of gear you can visit me at rockymountaintrail.com. I love the outdoors and pretty much live in the forest already, so it seems like I do more camping than I really do, hiking on the other hand is the shit!

I take so many spontaneous vacations that you might be surprised when I take you up on that! And I'm down for some hiking! It's the best way to get to remote places. (and the good fishing spots)

Since many of you mentioned camping and drinking, I have to suggest going to Watkins Glen, NY. They have a campground, a cool gorge to tour, a nice lake for boating if you are so inclined, and if you buy a winery Passport, you can basically drink all you want (and drink well) all weekend for like $20. It's a pretty awesome spot.
