Well, supposedly, he came out from hiding at some hotal and said he miscalculated the numbers and now it's Oct. 21.

No, Oct 21 was supposed to be the final day of the earth's existence. The Rapture (May 21st) was supposed to be the start of the destruction and the saving of the true believers.

Anyway, we need more Judgment Days like this. Perhaps with more followers and more like the Heaven's Gate followers. It'll put these people out of their misery.

My dad had a guy come out to give him an estimate for some landscaping work a few years back. I guess this contractor was a huge follower of Camping and wouldn't stop trying to convert my dad. Finally my dad got sick of it and told the guy that if the world was going to end May 21, 2011, then he just wanted a really cheap quote for a real shitty job that would only last 3 years. The guy was not impressed.

Lol... too true. You gotta wonder how gullible a person must be to be one of the ones driving around with the sign on top of their car. Truly sad, these people's lives must be (or delusionally happy), not sure which.

The only downside I see to this past weekend is us taxpayers having to foot the bill for all the followers who will now have to declare bankruptcy over spending their life savings and maxing out their credit cards.
