What can you say - people love dominance. Love them or hate them - more people watch when the Yankees are in the World Series. What can ya do.

As to Tiger, he's pretty consistant. Only 10 cuts missed in his career (absurd) and he's finished in the Top 10 in 171 of 269 tournaments. His 2000 will never be duplicated - 20 tournaments entered - finished top 25 in all of them, finished top 3 in 14 of them, and won NINE times. Insanity.

But I loved Jack, too. As a kid, I used to hit two golf balls in the back yard at objects and keep score - one was always Watson, one was always Nicklaus.

LOL. I did that too.

I'm not ashamed to admit that on the putting green before I played in the US Amateur (my only as a 21 year old) I chose the ball that I would start with by playing a Norman v. Price putting competition.

Old superstitions die hard.

Lol! That's awesome. Damn Kenny, you played in a US Amateur? Impressive!

I'm just a 13 handicapper who plays half a dozen times a year and hopes to break 80! :)

I'm actually thinking of getting a set of REAL woods and playing with those. It would freak people out I think. I miss the sound of an actual wood.

LOL. I tried to qualify for several and made one. I shot 81 (a little nervous) and 73 but failed to qualify for the match play portion. Damnit I know I would have beaten the eventual champ had I just gotten over my nerves. It was some lameass called Eldrick or something like that. :smow:

I was never of the caliber to truly compete in the US Amateur, but for a few years me and some of the better players in Ontario/Quebec used to try and qualify.

I'm about a 5 handicap these days. Some years work allows me to play like 25 times a year; then I get down to about a 2. The next year I can get only about 5 rounds in and I'm lucky to shoot below 78. GRRRRR. Working sucks.

I'm hoping in the next few years to play more and maybe have the chance to play tournaments again for the first time in 10 years.

Very cool. You have a good time? I definitely want to go again since the US Open will be in Philly, Pittsburgh, and North Carolina in the next 5 years. All an easy drive from DC.

That's still damn awesome. A 73 is sick in and of itself, and I'm sure that was not on an easy course. Eldrick is a terrible name.... I'll be that guy never amounted to anything!

Amateur Beau Hossler could make this VERY interesting. 17-year old just birdied the toughest hole on the course (#1) to become the leader.

just to tie this thread in with so many others, that kid's mom is hot

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the birdie on the 19th hole. :confused2:

Tiger & Phil Mickelson each miss cut at Greenbrier – the 1st in 198 times they’ve played same event as pros that both MC’d

Wow, and just when it seemed like Tiger was in full swing. Though it was a pretty thin field at the AT&T. I was only 7 guys dropping out from getting to play in it.
