It's been reported that Chicago is definitely putting in a claim

I'm suprised the Texans aren't mentioned as a possible team. they seem like a good fit

Yeah, just read they're 30th though. Not sure if he makes it through.

He would fit very well in Houston.

The Houston Chronicle is reporting that the Texans have no interest. If Leinart sucks they'll sign a veteran out of those they worked out last week.

The Chicago media will eat him alive...

but, he shouldn't suck too bad, how hard is it to hand the ball off to forte and throw it away on third down?

They better be right about Leinart then.

Orton would be perfect. Makes few mistakes and can get Johnson the ball. Enough to support that run game and defense.

Anyone find the timing of this release just a little strange?

I saw a report that Orton asked for his release when cutler got hurt because he wanted a chance to play there.

I heard the same thing this morning....ironic isn't it, if Chicago is able to make the claim, Orton can go back where he was and replace the guy he was traded for.....

Thought I saw somewhere that Orton has made it be known that he only intends to sign with Chicago. So, if any other lower tier teams claim him, he said he won't show.

He won't be claimed. He'll pass thru waivers and then he'll sign for about a 10th of what he's still owed.

Oddly enough, I picked up Orton a week ago in my Fantasy league...I have no clue why.

This could work out really well for me if he ends up in Chi.

The Cowboys also put in a claim, apparently just to keep Chicago from getting him.
