I want to believe in Dipoto so bad but his inability to identify pitching talent is concerning.

He's pretty much par for the course as far as GMs go. Bavasi, Zdurencik, none of them knew what to look for. Why should Dipoto be any different?

Gotta love this offense... 1 run against a pitcher who has a 5 plus era and he's only thrown 68 pitches so far in 5 innings... At least the Orioles did what was expected against Gallardo...

I understand why Adam Goldsmith, Rick Rizz, Dave Simms, etc. don't criticize the team - it's their job not to - but I really wish there was more commentary on the other team and more criticism of the M's. Watching this team is like watching a propaganda channel. I honestly think they'd get better ratings if they were more critical of the team and talked more about the opposing team. I LOVE when our games are nationally televised because it's such a breath of fresh air.

The entire root sports production is pure dog crap except for Rick Rizzs and they won't use him for TV. I would much rather hear the other teams feed if possible over blowers and sims and Goldsmith.

This could be a good thing in the long run, M's need a new manager, if we bomb the last month of the season, MAYBE just maybe a change will be made... The only thing that worries me is if we go out and get another rookie manager, M's need to stop doing that shit every time... Go out and spend the money on a proven manager ...

Be careful what you wish for. If all of a sudden employees quit doing what they are suppose to and start going against the grain we may have an uproar. I mean, let's say a football player decided to sit during the anthem to go against the injustice of our society who knows what would happen. Probably better that our broadcasters play sheep cause god forbid this 15 years of shit baseball get exposed for the sake of the almighty ratings

the people in charge of the money and talent acquisition have 50X more influence on whether it's a winning product than the manager.

i see no change in the decision making from the top compared to the 40 years of futility we've already dealt with. took a whole 18 months to see it. before dipoto traded almost everything he had acquired over the past 18 months away for a bunch of garbage in a desperate attempt to make the postseason this year, i was actually starting to think things might change.

I hate Baker with a passion but that article was spot on even if everyone was an unnamed source. If I remember correctly he also was hated by other GM's because he had trades all set up then backed out at the 11th hour.
