So is this a new rule that the league can review that a play should have been stopped due to a high stick? Flames scored a last minute goal with the goalie out for an extra attacker and Backlund scored a tying goal, but earlier Tkachuk knocked the puck down with a high stick and the war room said no goal.

I think they can review anything now.
Last Canucks game they reviewed a high sticking penalty.

I saw somebody mention that if the high sticking of a puck occurs in the attacking zone it is subject to review in the same way that offside can be reviewed if a goal is scored and the puck doesn't leave the attacking zone. Obviously, I knew that if the puck goes in off a high stick that it's an automatic review, but I didn't know it had been expanded to high sticking of the puck to keep it in the attacking zone.

There needs to be a time limit on those. Say if the team was in the attacking zone for 30 seconds after the infraction, they can't go back.

I haven't watched very much preseason hockey to be honest, but I've watched a little of this Flames - Jets game and the zebras are in mid-season form.
I think they are getting paid on salary not by hour. In the Jackets game last night they decided offside wasn't a thing, including one where Roslovic was in the zone and reached with the full length of his stick. He was offside by at least 6 feet.

Then we did a shootout for funsies and the Wings scored on their first two. The refs just called it and left even though both teams wanted to keep goign.

I believe one of the hardest things professional athletes have to do is leave their children for days and possibly weeks at a time.

That’s gotta wear you down mentally missing what’s going on in their lives.

@Comeds favorite, the Hung and the Breastless.
Is this a joke? Must be some of the new "humor" I dont get. And besides, the only soap opera I ever watched was the one about edlerly spouses waiting for the other to die - The Old and The Dutiful.

I disagree. Teams can get set up in the offensive zone off of a high stick or offside and it may take them a 30, 60, 90 seconds to score. If they are going to review things, and I am OK if they do not, there should not be a time limit constraint IMO.

I wish they would review obvious penalties that were missed by the zebras. I mean, a coach can challenge a goal for offside which is something that has been missed by a linesman, stands to reason that they should be able to challenge for a penalty that has been missed by both referees. I think a coach should get one additional challenge per game to have the war room review a penalty that should have been called.

I wouldn't mind snagging hamburglar as insurance for when we trade Korpi. Berube isn't the answer and there is no point in bringing Tarasov up to fight for games yet.

How about the game is called via video and referees just interpret calls made from the video booth and separate players?

The push to keep refereeing as it is when it doesn’t have to be is so dumb. Digitalize everything.
