I would be surprised to learn that a team DIDN'T submit a bid.

The rink that my son's program plays out of was supposed to get an ice system upgrade this spring. They were set to rip up the floor and all the tubes and pipes mid-may. They've been told to wait because the ice may be needed for practices and possible games. Not sure if that means that Columbus is contender for games or not.

We should be. Not a ton of cases, have a decent number of rinks around town, plenty of hotels next to Nationwide, and have two arenas set up for TV (I'm guessing they could work out a deal to use the Schott).

That's why I suggested Vegas, plenty of hotels obviously and they have the main rink on the strip as well as the practice rink (City National Arena). The players' wives might not like it though

honestly, Edmonton is perfect.
big-assed hotel at the rink, bunch of other rinks nearby, and the city of champions is a ghost town at the best of times,
let alone with $21 WTI, let alone in a pandemic.

only risk is they tend to have those northern hillbilly types who might want to express their in-duh-vidual free-dumbs
