Waddell said he was after Marty from the time he (Waddell) got to Columbus. Said they had a good relationship.

I really hope this offseason lives up to the craziness it could have, UFA, cap going up, players moving. Could be a blast.

I don’t see the islanders trading down with a new GM

And I don’t see the sharks paying the cost to blow their hair back to get them to change their minds

Is it possible? Sure, they have a lot of prospects and draft capital. But they are still a bad team and need to fill a lot of holes. They need to keep accruing talent until more players pan out. Too early to move lots of chips in on one player (who missed most of the year with injury and needs more develop time)

This feels more like click bait
The only way I trade that pick is if I like Misa better anyway (or just about even) or if I get such a great offer that I can't resist it. I don't see either as likely. I want the Isles to just take Schaefer. I'd also trade Dobson because I'm not giving him $9Mish per with his defensive lapses and good but not great offensive ability. Try to get back a decent young RHD and a prime pick or a forward and resign D'Angelo in the short term in need be.

Yeah with a new GM it seems like there are more ways to mess up via trade than succeed. I think the Isles should take Schaefer, he looks super skilled. With his injury and time out this season, he may need another year of development but he fits that puck possession style dman that is so valuable

By the time he’s ready to lead the d unit, someone will have aged out or could be traded if need be

Joe Sacco embraced the tank just he like did over a decade ago with the Avs.

/Maybe the Canucks should have waited to hire Sacco
