Maybe @thedddd can give an update on the new arena plans in Atlanta. I think they could do something similar to what the Utah HC is doing and play at the Gas South Arena while waiting for the new arena to be completed.

One and a half bil? Wonder if the expansion rules will be such that there is an immediate return on that investment?

I can't wait to lose some of the carefully selected young players from my team that had shit expansion rules just so we can watch the NHL fail in Atlanta a third time.

Next time I am in Alpharetta I will check it out.

I do know the on-ramp they are building is just about done and the area where the arena is supposed to go is all clear now.

As for State Farm when that was renovated hockey can't be played there anymore so Gas South is the only option, if the arena is not ready in time.
