I think it is more of a media thing than anything else. They like to make excuses when the team doesnt play well. Your statement above about him being the shutdown forward is really the answer to why he doesnt lead the league is points.


That said, it did appear he didn't show up several games last year. I do think he was nursing an injury and he even said he regrets not treating it sooner. He does need to cool it with the night outs though. I know he is young and enjoying life, but he needs to have some self-control out there in LA if he is going to be successful.

He's a hell of a teammate and most are sad to see him go. I think the decent return we got for him is allowing people to forget him so soon. I love the trade, but he will be sorely missed right away.

that said, of all the guys known for hanging out in old city, who would have thought that Hartnell would be the only one to remain. (Richards, Carter, Upshall, Lupul, Hartnell, Carcillo, and others.)
