Do you think he will be the setup man or the closer?

Good move to have a guy who can play the OF late in games and spell Martin vs lefties. Nothing spectacular but he makes more sense then Sardinas right now.

I like it. This move seems to make the roster a little more well rounded. I like his versatility a lot and from what I have seen of him, his approach at the plate is more in line with what the Mariners need. He should/will hit better than Martin, then again how couldn't he? Martin is garbage at the plate right now, he is hanging around that 30% K rate.

Pretty underwhelming so far. Tubed an easy throw last night and on Sat night misplayed a ball in CF that I don't know if Martin would've caught but certainly would have made a better play on. Right now I'm thinking this move was more about getting Sardinas opportunities to play and less about Omalley helping the team.

I think it has more to do with getting a RH option in CF to sit Martin occasionally until he becomes more consistent at the plate

Could be, though I think that may be an over-think when you're talking about a #9 hitter. And then factor in his speed & defense, and I think it becomes even more suspect when the difference between hitting .250 and .200 is about 1 hit a week.
