Bummer you sold your tickets. Tailgating on game day is always fun though. I currently live in CO. so unfortunately I won't be making it to any games this year. I went to multiple games every year from 1984 until 2005. I will always miss game day in Columbus. Enjoy the game & whatever you end up doing for it.

Just curious...why does tOSU always yell/cheer 'Ohio' and not 'Ohio State'? Are they yelling for the Ohio University team? I mean it is kind of like Texas Tech only saying 'Texas'.

It was started back in 1942 by a group of Navy sailors aboard the USS Lexington when they were in the Pacific Ocean. Several of those sailors after their tour of duty enrolled @ Ohio State in 1946. November 1, 1947 was the 1st time the chant was said during a Buckeye home game.

Actually I never knew the origin of it until I looked it up.

Just a couple of quick reminders.

@ellupo and I entered into a one week avatar wager weeks ago. I admire his cajones entering into an avy wager with me as I have a decent track record.

additionally, due to an unrelated party making some hefty guarantees that he really had no business undertaking @TrustMeIamRight and I have a season-long avatar bet on the outcome of this game as well.

If I should lose these bets I shall honor the weeklong bet with @ellupo first as that wager was agreed upon first. I will then honor my season-long bet with @TrustMeIamRight donning the avatar of his choosing for an extra week after completion of the season. The "season" shall include all bowl and playoff games.
