So now that we are past that, time to look forward.

My first thought is a rather simplistic one....

If this team cant get up and at least show some fucking fire for the next two games, the GM needs to do one of two things...

1. Cut as many of them as he can and start from scratch
2. Resign.

Don't see him resigning since most of these players he inherited. But if they can't rise to the occasion, serious actions need to be taken. And I don't mean cutting a kicker.

I'd expect to see some reshuffling of players and some scheme changes at the minimum myself.

Guys... I meant if this team cant get up for these next two, SMGM needs to either blow up the roster or RESIGN..as in quit

Not Re-sign as in retain the players in question. LOL

Not if the players aren't being placed in a position to succeed. That need to be taken into account.

Well I know IM going to hear a ration of shit for this one but here goes any way.

We are hearing the EXACT same complaints about the defense this year that we heard last year. And this is despite the fact that we made a big effort to bring in more talented players on the defense in particular. SO I some what agree that at least on the defensive side of the ball, we are beyond the point of simply saying... we have a bunch of no talent hacks on the field. As this has been the claim for what five years running now?? IS it possible we increased the player talent pool, but decreased the coaching talent level at least on the defensive side of the ball?? I cant be the only one STILL wondering why we are playing so much soft zone with two press man cover guys on the outside.

Good to see the 24 hour cooling off period has allowed Shark to come to his senses.

I'm thinking Barry and Fewell are on the hottest seat at the moment in terms of the coaching staff. Wonder how much of this is Fewell, isn't he known to prefer not going press.

Yeah, I can't speak for whether or not Scotty Mac should quit or not, but the NFC East truly is there for the taking for the Skins.

Of the Skins remaining six games, four are against NFC East teams, five are against NFC opponents, and the Buffalo game is at home.

If the Skins get their head out their ass far as playing away games, they can take the east.

Really dude?? Really. Even after watching that train wreck in person, i refrained from going on a screw this team they all suck rant. I did make a couple of pointed comments about what i saw at the game. Mainly that the Panthers knew going into the third quarter that this team had all but given up. And I do feel the Ref crew by half time was walking around with on hand on the flag when ever Carolina's offense got on the field and two eyes on the guys in the B&G. Over all yesterday was about as complete a team loss as you can paint. Cant really bitch about the QBs play considering 2 of his 3 turnovers were solidly on the O-line. Could complain about the defense basically dropping down on all fours and wincing as they asked Cam Newton to just be gentle... But over all I saw a whole bunch of quit in this team yesterday, and read a bunch of bitching and excuse making by some of the players by the time I got home.

If the same team shows up this week Eli Manning will shatter the passing TD record Sunday.

True. Their destiny within the division is in their control.

Sadly they aren't going anywhere if the running game continues as is, run defense continues to be putrid and the tackling issue isn't solved.

I'm thinking DGF is commenting more on the Resign or cut everyone stance.

There is a middle ground when the division is still in contention because of crappiness. And it still could be 2 games down the road, even if we lost both. Unlikely for us to contend if we shit the bed, but the statistical chance remains given the play we've seen so far in this division.

OK I can accept that. But i did say, this was based on how the team plays the next two. If this team comes out and rolls over for NY and then Dallas with the Division still within grasp, at home no less. I think it really would be time to go on a purge mission and get rid of a bunch of the guys who are over paid and apparently under performing. That would be both players and coaches. If this team shits the bed on the next two, I would think they stand a good chance of just mailing it in for the rest of the season. If thats the case, its either clean house, or walk away and leave it for the next guy to try and clean up this mess. I just dont see the logic in hanging onto some of these guys if we fizzle out to last place in the division again. And if we do flame out, I gues IM hoping the GM has the real conviction to either fix the issue, or admit we are so fucked up that even HE doesnt see the light and walks away.

Even if the Skins win the NFC East. I doubt they go anywhere. Hell, at this point I'm not even sure if it would be beneficial for them to win the east. What if it gives them the false impression that they are a good team?

I completely agree with your frustration. And would be stunned if we saw nothing change.

Since Scot appears to be the brightest hope for the future of the Skins, I'll support the actions he chooses to take if we shit the bed for 2 games. He's closer to the source then we can possibly be as fans and if we can't trust him to take the right actions, we are screwed regardless.

True but it's been proven that teams can and often do change down the stretch. Teams get hot at the right time and Anything can happen. just look to the Giants for that.

Got to stay balanced in a week to week league. Health and everything beginning to click can change the dynamic of a team completely.

Good point. But if getting to the playoffs in 2015 results in the same thing or something similar happening in 2016. As it did in 2013 after making the playoffs in 2012. I'd just as soon go 0-6 the rest of the way and get a better pick in the 2016 draft.

I can understand feeling that way given history. But I just can't help being optimistic that things really ARE a bit different with this team and the new influx from Scot's first draft. I'm inclined to give the benefit of the doubt that things are changing even with the roller coaster performances.

Not a bad move, although I see this as more a move to hopefully improve the running game I hope. If we continue to try and pass the ball the way we have, things will go badly.
