Vick was still on the board in the 12 round, so I picked him up just because, I was going after rbs, and wrs. Picked up Stafford in the 4th, I feel like I got a decent D's, I lacked in kickers and TE's.

Thanks sir, I tried to tailor my strategy off the info you guise gave me.

OK, so I have to ask. A couple of things. Obviously guise is guys, plorst is post and there are a few other words we use here. My question is: Was there a poster that couldn't spell and needed to be made fun of or was somebody drunk. Personally, I'm leaning towards drunk............lol.

Side note: how good all the players are on an 8-team fantasy league shows you how guys like Jim Brown might be underrated for the years they played against solid Ds in a talent-packed 12-team league between 1947 (when black players were allowed in) and 1960 (when the AFL started siphoning off players).

The U.S. population has doubled - but imagine how tight every NFL team would be if there were only 24 instead of 32.

Christian Ponder wouldn't be a scout team QB, let alone that starter in Minnesota, can promise ya that.

Ugh. I agree.

Joe Kapp laughs at Christian Ponder. And that is quite possibly the definition of irony...

Wow. Treff remembered that Ponder plays for Minny. Nice!

Sorry, man, I couldn't resist.

Two points.

First, the game has changed substantially, and is far more popular. There wasn't the same competition for spots on this twelve teams as there is for even arena football( among people who couldn't make the NFL) today IMO. The game blew up since then.

Second, assuming the talent pool was more concentrated, he benefitted from the surrounding talent on offense at a similar level as he was challenged by the increased talent on defense. I can't comment too specifically on how the talent was distributed because that was well before my time, but I believe those were very good teams as a whole. Without free agency and other aspects of football today to promote parity, he may have even benefitted more than the extra defensive talent could cancel out.

So I just drafted in my 10-team, standard scoring, 3-keeper league tonight. The first 3 rounds were for keepers. Here are my results:

QB-Matt Stafford--I had him last year and put him back in the pool on the off chance he fell back to me. Grabbed him in the 5th round(with my 2nd pick)
RB-Foster--keeper from last year
RB-McCoy--keeper from last year
WR-Calvin Johnson--keeper from last year
WR-Desean Jackson--I have a feeling about the Eagles offense this year(fingers crossed)
WR-T.Y. Hilton--great value for a up and coming player
TE-Gronkowski--He fell far and with news that he may be back week 3 or earlier, I had to snatch him up.
Flex-Eddie Lacy--I think he becomes a huge TD machine for GB....or atleast chew up yards when needed.
K-Harvard Rugland aka Kickalicious--He may not make the Lions squad, but all the kickrs I wnated were gone so I can always replace him if Akers makes it over him
Def-Cincy--Ehh, we'll see
Bench-Mendenhall, Ingram, Knile Davis, Jermichael Finley, Kenbrell Thompkins, Justin Blackmon, Cordarelle Patterson
