So is Skinner getting this attention more based on his age or on his play?

I don't want to sound like I'm attacking him, because I honestly don't know enough about his game or personality, but I almost never hear of him being included as one of the top youngsters in the league. We've heard a ton about Seguin, Hall, Tavares, Duchene, Nugent-Hopkins, Couture, Eberle, etc. I just never hear of much about Skinner outside of "how old is he?"

I checked the stats yesterday and he has five points already. Bizz said he has been their best player so far this year. I didn't get to see him too much last year but when I did he looked impressive.

He plays like a veteran and should get more publicity than he does.

Great. Stats can be misleading, unless we all expect Matt Cooke to hit 61 goals. If he looks good, that's what matters to me.

I haven't seen Skinner this year, but he was good last year. Good skater and plays welll in traffic.

IMO, the only flaw (other than not being bigger) I see in his game is that he loves to cut to the middle (last year at least). Look out for those trolly tracks kid!! However he made it out of his rookie year without getting decapitated, so he probably knows what he's doing.
