IMHO:
You look at how the team starts the season and as the season progresses do you see improvement from start to finish? If not something is wrong. But if the team is progressing your moving forward.

Right now, I'd say we progressed in some area's and have plateaued in others, although there is still time to advance.

How many false start penalties were there today? I don't remember any. We are still committing stupid penalties on offense and special teams primarily. I did see progress within the defense today.

Let's not forget about the graduation rate being up and the off field incident's that have diminished under Bo.

The problem as we all can see is that we have new and young inexperienced coordinators who from what I saw today drew the ire of Bo - Beck via headset after a stupid play call, and Paps who got the finger pointed at him after burning a timeout for not getting the right personnel in the game as NW went hurry up and 12 players were on the field. It will take a few years for the coordinators to hit their groove and the playing discipline issue rears it's ugly head from the top down on this team. Bo got himself into this situation with the hires he made, but he a relatively new head coach also. I don't like seeing the team come out flat (South Dakota State, North Western, Iowa State), Hyper excited (Texas, Wisconsin), or quit playing (too many times to list). I am starting to think this is a process of learning more for the coaches then the players, but only more years of experience will heal the woes. All of us want dynamic results now, but we will have to settle for the ugly wins. I am spoiled by Tom Osborne's Championship years, but I remember Tom's teams disappointing seasons also.

Started the thread when we went down 28-16 and i was about 11 beverages in. Happy we won, Taylor came through in the clutch. As bad as the 1st 3 1/2 Qtrs were the last 1/2 qtr was just awesome.

The title may seem a little harsh.I'm just tired of making excuses for Bo, I've made a lot. I hope he gets things in order. But I've been hoping that for quite sometime now.You can see the potential in this team if they would just get out of their own damn way. To me, there is nothing more frustrating than the team killing there own momentum with penalties, turnovers and playcalling. I feel he's had plenty of time to fix these things.

Fire him tomorrow? No. I'm sure they will give him next season too. Considering the lack of quality opposition I don't see more than 1 or 2 losses left this regular season. He's currently in his 5th season and to be fair, it's a lot better than Callahan's 5th. But at the same time we really don't want to use Bill as a measuring stick. The process needs to generate results and soon.

I was not one for firing Solich either. This one move (and the hiring of his successor) has caused this program more harm and ridicule then anything in the last 50 years.

Solich was also a hell of a lot better coach then Pelini in my opinion.

Was he a great coach?
9-4,12-1,10-2, 11-2, 7-7, 9-2(didn't coach bowl).
Voted B12 coach of the year twice in those 6 years
BCS bowls twice in 6 years
Ranked Top 10 in both polls 3 out of 6 years.

It's hard to argue with these statisitics. And this as a young coach.

Then on to Ohio where he has built a consistently strong program out of nothing. In his second year he took them to a their first bowl since 1968, has been to a bowl each of the last 3 seasons and has a strong shot at a BCS bowl in a non-AQ conference this year.

Solich was Nebraska tradition and I would love to have him back. Until we have someone of his caliber again Pedo's legacy will continue to thrive at UNL.

Solich was a better coach than Pelini. I also think if Pedo wouldn't have fired him, Nebraska would've had a couple of Big 12 titles in the last decade also under his tenure.

I agree. The one thing that probably wouldn't have happened is Osborne would not have needed to come back as AD and we likely would not be in the B1G now.

It would be interesting to see the landscape in that event. Would Missouri now be B1G?

Likely Colorado would be the same. A&M the same but I think we would still be B12.

Not that I couldn't live with that but I do like the B1G schedule too.

this ^^

Bo is doing a fine job
and Taylor did a fine job as well

but I do have ta say

the strengths coach is doing a horrible job --- this is how fumbles and lack of consistency begin

To the contrary, the team has had better stamina then our opponents most of the time. Fumbling has more to do with concentration than conditioning
