It would be an act of forgiveness, basically Lebron is the better man. Then if he wins a title for Cleveland, it would look even better. This has little to do with Gilbert, more to do with legacy and the roster.

It's too late for that imo. He will come off as fake if he does it now. Should've picked up the phone on July 1st and apologize. LeBron may still go there but he can't apologize now without looking fake.

I wonder if this whole re-thinking of the letter is a deliberately leaked story from LeBrons camp.

There's been several columns and stories the last few days that basically said "how can he play for someone that did that!?"

This could be his way of showing that he's not taking it lightly and that he's not totally cool with Gilbert.

It also puts him in a win win. If he chooses Miami, People will understand and cavs fans will direct their anger at their owner. If he chooses Cleveland, he comes off as the bigger man and demonstrates to Cleveland the type of forgiveness he hopes he can get from them.
