Miami can't sign Melo. This doesn't make sense. Only reason they can sign Bosh wade and LBj is because of bird rights. Only way Melo and LBJ play together in Miami is with out wade and Bosh.

How much less do they have to take

Just listened to the Sheridan interview with Colin Cowherd from this morning... the dude is pretty convincing.

Either he's right or he's spectacularly wrong. Seems likely that he's right to me.

First you lose your main choice as HC and now it looks like Melo is leaving since the longer it takes for him to announce means the chances of him re-signing decrease.

At this point probably is....but why would he still be driving people into a frenzy, and why wouldn't his 'source' not tell him to temper it?

Everyone who is aware of the situation knows that he was the first to break the story, and if you haven't heard of him by now you simply don't care or never will never hear of him.

Just a thought, but if for some reason they can't pay all 3 properly, Wade takes the hit this year knowing he can trust Riley down the road to make it right?

As much as my gut says Cavs, it says the holdup has something to do with Anthony.
Him not signing yet is the piece of the puzzle that doesn't fit.

Some guy posted on the Knicks board on real gm and said lebron an carmelo are trying to team up in Miami but the hold is bosh they want him to leave. Go look take it with a grain of salt though it's an email

This is nearly impossible. And is outright impossible in the scenario this guy is portraying.

I explained why earlier this morning & I'll quote myself.

I just listened to Brian Windhorst on Mike & Mike. He brought up a good point about a Lebron & Melo pairing in Miami. He brought something to my attention that I didn't realize beforehand. He said it would be virtually impossible for them to pair up in Miami even if Bosh goes to Houston before Lebron & Melo make their decisions.

Here are the reasons why it is nearly impossible:
-If bosh leaves, that brings the team below the luxury tax threshold because his cap hold is removed.
-Bringing the team below the tax threshold means the team no longer can use the MLE to sign McBob & the other exception to sign to sign Granger.
-That means both of those contracts immediately count towards the lower cap number.
-With the team resigning Wade for around $14-15 mil a season & Lebron signing for around $22 mil, counting the 5 players already on the team, including McBob & Granger, that would put the team around $50 mil
-That would only leave about $13 mil till fill out the roster.

Basically it boils down to that teams can only exceed that salary cap to sign there own player via Bird rights. By bosh leaving that limits the amount of money Miami can spend. So unless Melo plans on playing for around $5 mil a season, it ain't happening

The only way they play together is if between the two of them, they split about $27 mil.

I'm hoping for spectacularly wrong. That'll be much more entertaining.

I definitely think he's trying to maximize the opportunity while it lasts. As soon as the official decision is announced... people will forget about him pretty quick (if he's right). He's been posting links to his website left and right since he broke the news.

His attempt at capitalizing on the situation doesn't really throw the credibility of the initial news break into question, for me.

Not with a seasoned reporter, anyway. If it was some random, brand-new, young dude no one ever heard of it would... but not with him. Especially after listening to audio of him discussing it.

I'm convinced that if Sheridan is wrong he'll be more shocked than anyone.

I listened to Sheridan on Coward and he seemed enormously confident, he said, "I don't mess around, I have reputation, career, etc. on the line."
