You know the funniest thing about the whole name debate, and to a degree the rebel flag thing is this....

When you do everything you can to force some one to change a thing or action they actually love simply because it will make you feel better, in most cases you get the exact opposite reaction.

So all they have really done by screaming you MUST change the name to appease the PC crowd is polarize a portion of the fan base to the point where we would rather see the team abandon DC rather than give up the name.

IMO the saddest part is that when you give in and placate the PC crowd by removing whatever they are "offended" by, they just move on to the next thing to be offended by. All they really want is a branch of the federal government to definitively make the team name a slur. The next step will be to file a class action suite against the team and the NFL for 83 years of racial insensitivity that has cause mental pain and suffering to countless Native Americans. Because you can bet they will drag the Chiefs into this, and every baseball team with a Native American mascot to theme. And some bleeding heart liberal judge will grant them Billions in the end.

Correction... I have the PERFECT fix.

Move to Oklahoma city, change the name to the Oklahoma Redmen, keep the logo and settle it where no one can file a civil suit for pretend damages that the previous team name caused. Then have the entire team including the Owner and coaches line up for a 65 man full moon photo to send to the DC government, COngress and the White House.

I realize that. But as far as Im concerned, DC made its bed back in the 90's when they pretty much told Jack Kent Cooke that he could build the stadium only if he did it out of his own pocket and paid federal contractor prices to do it. Now with them pounding the drum of we dont want you in DC unless you change the name... IM fine with the team moving some where other than the DMV and changing the name any way.

He is just doing his bit for the party at this point. Hillary will likely be running against Jeb Bush and the Republican vote will rally around that big time. Hillary much like Bill in his first election, is going to rely on getting the votes from the groups that dont usually tend to vote, young blacks, Native Americans, GLBT's etc. By Xmas BO will come out and formally endorse Hillary and he will continue his PC campaign. Jebs only real shot at that point would be to come and say he will do what BO only ever hinted at, bring American Jobs back to America.

But yea I agree he should have way more to worry about that should a football team be forced to change its name.

Skinsdad... my point is actually.. with the rampant PC agenda that is going on currently, ANY Republican candidate is fighting an uphill battle. Obama gave out cell phones for free, killed OSB single handedly with a rusty pocket knife and a compass. During his fiefdom, Gay Marriage was made federally legal in all states, and he gave health care to the masses.... who ever he endorses will have the backing of the masses. So any republican candidate is going to have to fight like hell to have a shot.
