Hard to believe Chavez is a 30-year-old reliever making his transition as a starter. He's posted fantastic peripherals so far (9.7 K/9, 1.9 BB/9, 49.0% GB%, 2.62 FIP, 2.68 xFIP).
It goes without saying that there is absolutely no way Chavez is going to sustain those numbers, but I will be ecstatic if he even ends the season with a 3.50 ERA. I was just hoping he would be able to give us something under 4.50 when the season started.
