i think we have a middle of the pack o/line which is ok . i think gettis and leribus are 2 guards with potential . RT , to me has been stop gapped for this season because FA next season will have a lot of good young OT's to pick from

To be honest, I thought we started last season somewhere in the #20-22 range for O-lines and we ended up with the #1 rushing offense and certainly had no issues scoring. Clearly that was due largely to RG3, but the O-line pleasantly surprised. Hopefully they keep improving.

The good news is that we have an elite left tackle. The big weakness is the right tackle. They get that position right and it changes the entire dynamic.

I agree that we have an average, or slightly better oline. Concerns are RT and depth. We got lucky last year with injuries. Leriebus concerns me in that he appears to have a weight problem and apparently isn't putting in the time in the offseason to stay in shape. He balloons up every offseason then has to lose it in training camp. That's not a good sign. Gettis is unproven. Hurt is ok.

If I recall correctly he had weight problems in college as well. Could be a case of poor scouting. They knew about it, thought they could fix it, nope.

Shanahan always looks at the best he sees in a player and hopes to coach out the worst. So I don't doubt that they already knew he had diet issues.

And that's the concern. He has a great opportunity, but is he willing to work for it? Shanahan won't put up with that for long.

yeah if he doesnt get it together quickly he will be gone . but again was he fat because of the injury or was he injured because he was fat ?

Nonfactor IMO. His weight concerns go back years.

here is a breakdown by john kiem . what i found interesting is that gettis is strong enough but now its about technique . he could jump ahead of leribus .

the other thing was how i have heard rumblings that chester played at a pro bowl level . his play did improve in year one .

lastly a healthy stieger could be a huge asset at LG and also center
