Cotton Bowl - (1) Alabama (13-0) vs. (4) Clemson (12-1)
Orange Bowl - (2) Ohio State (13-0) vs. (3) Georgia (12-1)

Fiesta Bowl - Cincinatti (13-0) vs. Iowa (11-2)
Peach Bowl - Notre Dame (11-1) vs. Florida (10-2)
Sugar Bowl - Texas A&M (10-2) vs. Oklahoma (12-1)
Rose Bowl - Penn State (11-1) vs. UCLA (11-2)

A few reminders:
Rose Bowl: Big Ten vs. Pac-12
Sugar Bowl: SEC vs. Big 12

The G5 spot is rotated between the Cotton, Peach, and Fiesta Bowls. Since the Cotton is a semifinal game, and the Peach hosted the G5 team last year, it is logical that it will be the Fiesta hosting the G5 team this season.

As always, feel free to post your own NY6 projections below.

12-1 Oklahoma would likely have better quality wins than 12-1 Clemson. Not sure Clemson would go over them.

As long as tOSU doesn't play in the Outback Bowl (0-4), I'm good with that. I think Clemson will miss the playoffs with one or two more losses (depending on how Florida State and Louisville develope this season.) Will UCLA make a run and win their conference? If so, would it be strong enough to knock out 9ne of the top 4?

They'd also have a worse loss. Think the committee would reward Clemson for scheduling tough OOC.

I don't trust Clemson at all. Their OL is Crap
Let’s be real…so is the ACC. Clemson’s schedule is loaded with teams that would fall between 35-50 if rankings extended that far and not many if any top 25 opponents. I think Clemson’s biggest concern isn’t running the table from here but rather having a signature win over a top opponent. They had one chance and they whiffed. The only benefit is that it’s early in the season where a loss can often be overlooked.

But my issue with Clemson is their Ol.

It seemed confused and had the Density of Swiss Cheese with what Georgia was throwing at them.

If they run into a tough defense, which some of those 35-50 might have, could they hang?

Could Clemson get into a new year's day bowl? Possibly but I just think that ol is too big of a weakness

I can see that. But remind yourself of this. We’re both ND fans so we experienced the same thing in the first Clemson match up, ND owned that OL. Everybody takes about TL playing in game 2 and that’s what the casual fan attaches themselves to but if you remember correctly, their OL was much improved and played much better establishing Etienne in the run game. This tells me that Clemson is well coached. That’s why I’m seeing what you’re saying based on the Georgia game but it’s not as big a concern for me. And let’s be real…that Georgia front 7 is really really good. They won’t see that quality of front in the ACC. Just my opinion. Go Irish!

OL is definitely a big problem, but the QB wasn’t very impressive either.

Guess other benefit is loss was OOC so can still win conference and probably will.

I’m itching to put Coastal Carolina as the G5 representative, but Cincinnati looks so dominant. Both are really good.

It should clear up after the Cincinnati vs Notre Dame playoff eliminator.

I'm definitely watching the Oregon-tOSU game with great interest not just for fandom, but also for the projections.
