Brown is 10x better. Of course we go with Nugent.

Horrible.

Nugent is a serviceable kicker, but Brown is better. When he lined up to kick the winner in Pitt, I had little doubt it was going down the middle. I would have never felt that way with Nugent.

You guys are freaking insane.

I don't think Nugent is miles better, but he is younger, and has a strong leg, and he is accurate. I don't worry about game winning kicks with Nugent like I did Graham.

Why did Brown not have an NFL job most of last season if he is miles better than Nugent? I mean, it wasn't just the Bengals that passed on him, but 31 other teams as well that said, you are not as good as our current kicker.

So while you fault Mike Brown for his downfalls, I can't say this is one of them. Either way, Nugent or Brown, I think both were just fine options. Can't fault Mike for taking the younger kicker.

Nugent gets hurt when he rips a stiff fart. Nugent is 31 and Brown is 34. They aren't RB's. They're kickers. Your post is fucking ridiculous and makes no sense. Homer.

Since when does Nugent have a stronger leg? I don't have the stats in front of me, but I'd be surprised to learn that he has a better touchback % on kickoffs and neither of them are a consistent threat from over 50.

I went to the Bengals / Giants game this last year, and watched Nugent in warmups kicking the ball through the uprights consistantly from 60 yards.

Neat. He can knock em down in warmups. What do the on-field stats say?

When does Marvin Lewis ever try FG's over 50+ yards typically? With the rare exception he is going to make a kicker go for a near 60 yard FG at Heinz Field with the playoffs on the line?

Those 50 yard+ FG attempts are very rare for Bengals to go for, and I don't think that has to do with Nugent as much as Marvin Lewis's trust in his kickers since Graham to even attempt them.

So, just because we don't attempt 50 yarders, we should simply sign an inferior kicker?
