Now Samardzija Rumors

57s[/ame] I'm seeing rumors linking Samardzija to Seattle. No question he'd boost their receiving corps.

Ha ha, I didn't get the joke until like the 5th time I read the tweet, thought it said relief corps or relieving corps.

Jeff is 3 or 4 years older than I thought he was. Maybe he will go back to the pen soon.

He is only 28 and is their ACE so I don't see him going to the pen any time soon. He would be a great #3 for us. I read on another site about this rumor from a different source so there is some legs to it. Here is a part of the other post regarding this rumor:

The names being bandied about include Gohara.. Pike.. Paxton with Barney and Franklin possibly being mentioned. There is also discussion about Hultzen NOT being included..

Would not give up any of the Mariners top 4 prospects (Walker, Paxton, Peterson or Sanchez) for him. Jeff is a #3 at best and I honestly believe that Paxton could match his performance minus about 30 innings. He may be their ace but he still had a very average 4.34 ERA in 2013.

I wouldn't give up a Paxton in a million years for a run of the mill 28 year old #3-#4 starter.

This would be a good trade for Seattle. Seattle needs the pitching. I would like to see Hultzen involved in a trade at some point but I think his value has gone down because of injury issues.

I agree with this. Also, he is another RHP. Need to add a veteran lefty to the staff.
