I popped completely my Achilles last summer... apparently our friend Anthony has torn his... He is out for 6 to 9 months.

Because of the tear, as opposed to a full rupture, he is expected to have a more solid heal than if it were a full rupture.

Well good on ya' Luke Willson then.

I've never really been a fan of Anthony McCoy and I'm happy this opens up a spot for Luke Willson. As I read more into the draft he's a guy I actually really like a lot and I believe will be a far superior player to Anthony McCoy. Not really a huge loss IMO.

I don't understand why people don't like Mccoy. I thought he was great last year. He is really athletic and made some big plays last year. I don't really notice blocking much but i read that he is a good blocker. I am upset that he is missing the season because I was really impressed with him. I wanted him to be on the field n two tight end sets because I think he is just an athletic freak. He was the first receiver to get 100 yards in a game for the Seahawks last year also. Apparently he struggled with consistency, but I was hoping this year would be the year he figured it out

For me it's not that I don't like McCoy, it's that I feel we can do better. Hey McCoy did OK last year, but man is that dude slow. Wilson had to tell him where to pull up in order to be open.

Lets see what Willson can do. I good with that!

Let's not forget about Darren Fells. I don't know if he'll turn out as the other basketball players turned football TEs, but he has a pedigree with having a brother playing TE in the NFL already. He may not make the team, but you never know.

McCoy was just waived. So his career as a Seahawk is over (for now).

They did, but when he wasn't claimed on waivers he went to the IR. It isn't anything I have seen before and don't understand fully, but he was waived and then was moved to the IR.

I'm not sure, but I think it was done to free up a roster spot. Despite being a slow hulk McCoy made some nice catches last year, to bad is so slow. He be wide open and I'd be yelling run, run, you s.o.b., is that the fastest you go?

I'll admit, I am partial to athletic TEs, and that's one reason I was disappointed that Morrah never seemed to pan out. I like Willson and Fells coming in, but you never know if they'll pan out either.

When speaking of tight ends for the Seahawks, we should consider Seth McGrath as our blocking tight end and Luke as the Joker. Here an article on McGrath I found interesting.
