Nothing to do on Christmas day

My wife and I will be doing our family Christmas the Saturday after. It just works out for all of our kids better if we do it this way. No biggie.

I find myself with nothing to do this year as my wife is working Christmas day so that her staff can have the day off with their families. I am thinking about a road trip somewhere in Nebraska to ice fish somewhere that I haven't fished before. Anybody want to join me? I'll drive pretty much anywhere.

If I didn't have all that goin' on I'd love ta go fishin' with ya. Thanks fer the invite, though. Never been fishin' in the cold, but I here the fish taste alot better caught in cold water.

I'll be coming to Omaha for Christmas this year. I want to special order the white Christmas now and the blizzard on New Years Day that will keep me from driving back home.

Tom I'm up in SD and like you my Family will not have Xmas until the 31st. I'm not a ice fishing type of guy but I will be out in the field chasing pheasants with my two girlfriends, black labs Annie and Suh. With my Business I usually work that week and allow my employees to take the time off beside what we do its slowest time of the year for us, it allows me to get a lot of work done. This has become my Xmas tradition and I wouldn't have it any other way.

The kids are leaving at 9 or 10 Xmas morning and then I ain't doing shit the rest of the day.

I don't fish.

Got my peeps all week. Good times.

They are 9 and 10 and called me on the Santa thing in the pick-up a couple months ago. "Dad is Santa real". I asked "What do you think?" They said "no". I said "you're right daddy's Santa"

The best one I ever pulled on them was a few years ago. We were putting cookies and milk out for Santa and my daughter asked if we could put some baby carrots out for the reindeer. I said "sure", so I gave them each a handful of baby carrots and they went outside and pilled them up in the grass. When they went to sleep, I went out and replaced the baby carrots with malted milk balls. The next morning (Xmas morning) they were laughing about Santa being such a slob and leaving cookie crumbs all over the table and chair (I made sure to make a mess when I ate the cookies) when my daughter asked "if the reindeer had eaten the carrots". I said "I don't know, go look". They came back inside laughing so hard they could hardly stand up. This is what they found where the carrots were. They know what deer poop looks like because we go Morel mushroom hunting.
