If they are going to do it like this, they should go all out and adopt the NBA style where the lottery is for the first three picks, and then the rest fall in line.

The best parts of the NBA (other than the offseason) are the lottery and the draft.

I thought they changed it to where all non-playoff teams have one ball in the lottery. Or was that just a proposal?

It's still a weighted lottery, but instead of only the worst five teams having a shot at number 1, all 14 non-playoff teams have a shot at top pick. However, if you look at the percentages, not very good if you're the best non-playoff team.

lol - If the Flames were in a race with a pregnant woman, they'd finish 3rd.

For setting me straight. I thought it was all in, didn't think it was weighted.

Now I just need the Kings and Jackets to finish 29 and 30.

With the 1st pick of the 2013 Draft the Columbus Blue Jackets select D Seth Jones Portland Winterhawks WHL.

They will pick him with the second.

Jonathan Drouin with the first.

Then trade the Rangers pick and Umberger and Mason for third, where they will pick Mackinnon.

Your teams Team President is John Davidson. He took Eric Johnson 1st overall. Maybe he learned from the mistake, we shall see.

If the Islanders are picking in the top 3 & there's a good chance they will be the BJ's won't get the pick without giving up Johansson. Reuniting him with Nino would make sense.

The Erik Johnson thing was a fluke, made worse by the names picked after him being so successful (Staal, Toews, Backstrom, Kessel). And in JDs defense, he picked Patrick Berglund later in the same round. That was a solid pick.

So you'd trade Nino to the Jackets? That's nice. RJ and Mase for Nino. You can keep the pick. We'll trade the Rangers pick for later ones then.

Uhh NO. It would take Johansson & 1 of the BJ's other 1st round picks to get the Isles to give up a top 3 pick at the very least. Nino isn't going anywhere. Snow already said so.

As for Johnson, it was a bad decision. No GM is perfect. They all make mistakes.

But what has the Wanger said?

I doubt Johansen is going anywhere either. Word around town is his demotion is to keep him away from senior players who don't mind losing.

The Wanger only cares about saving money. Nino will be in the final year of his ELC next season. Wanger is also apparently going to sell the team. He has a 75M loan due after next season.

Hey guys... The Binghamton...errrr Ottawa Senators call dibs on Seth Jones. In three years I'd be happy to see a Jones-Karlsson pairing.

Your injury riddled team is going to win today. The Islanders are starting Ricky between the pipes.

Honestly if Anderson isn't at his absolute best Tavares might get 5 goals tonight. 3 AHLers in the lineup on D and two of them still need work on their lateral mobility. JT could absolutely torch these guys if he gets the right matchup.

Of course the "good" matchups for the Sens would include having a rusty Phillips and Serge Gonchar out there. :L

This could end very badly.
