He's making 7.7m, not exactly chump change for a TE, but that's artificially low for cap space purposes. His huge cap hits are backloaded over 2025 and 2026 due to renegotiations.
Yeah so that first year they were spending $10M on the TE position, give or take. Chicago would be spending over $15M but Kmet does have an out after next season so overall it isn't as bad I originally thought. I just think EDGE is a bigger need for Chicago. Caleb to Bowers along with Allen and Moore is nasty.

Bowers will better than Everett year one,and better thsn ANY TE Bears have ever had in year two......
CW and Bowers coukd be the next zmaHomesKelce connection or in thr least what Minnesota had going with Cousins-Hock or Goff and LaPorta....

WHo would not want that.....
Definitely a scary offense on paper: Moore, Allen, Kmet and Bowers

Draft is for talent, free agency is for needs.
Kmet and Bowers don't make much sense. Unless, Kmet were to get hurt and no fan should be drafting based on that. Especially, since they signed Everett in FA....is Bowers going to be #3 or is Everett?

LOL.

I'm surprised they didn't add anyone of note at Edge during free agency. Trade down is likely their best option at 9 to try to replace that 2nd rounder.

Bowers would play the slot (or as a 2nd TE if you can't see him at slot). Everett is not going to be the reason they do or don't take Bowers (if he's on their radar).

Bowers is a better version of Everett so thats a pretty simple swap.

Milk Spiller is writing another great American novel. He will select his pick at Midnight.

I think we have a pretty educated guess as to who he'll take.

Def could be their no.9 pick........Im just sold on fixing the offensive side withe first to picks to leave all questions answered this year....
C
Time for them to get that position right......

Then theres always that posdibility of the midseason trades,we can move off Kmet ....
Bears also have 2 no. 2s next season too.
So we wont be hurting at all for draft capital.....
Bears are in a great place.

The Jets need to go OL.

They did add two tackles in FA (Tryon Smith and Morgan Moses), so someone that can play guard and bump over to tackle when one of them expectedly gets injured would be ideal.

Olu and Fautanu are the two that I think start out at LG and then move to LT later on.

Yeah. Smith only signed a 1 year and deal and probably plays 8-12 games.....they need somebody for when he gets hurt this coming season.

Would be shocked if he played more than 10-12 games.
