The Colts were on 25 of 31 rankings, that's a record and the 88 points also a record, not bragging because honestly I think any of you would have done just as well given the picks I had.

Also, what the hell is wrong with 6 of you?!

I'm sorry, I thought something that would take you 15 minutes to do could be done sometime today. If it doesn't hold a lot of meaning why you complaining?

I put effort into the draft, would like to put similar effort into the evaluation, but had a really busy day on Friday. Didn't have the time so I had to go on first impression instead of something more structured. Is what it is, I guess.

I voted more for quality of picks deeper in the draft as much or more than just a good first couple of rounds.

Yep, I thought the Colts and Cleveland might have added more talent, but picking where they were, for the Pack to end up with Ward and Ridley was an outstanding job IMO

Not saying Ridley was a bad pick on where he was selected but Ridley doesn’t impress me as much as a potential 1st receiver off the board should. In fact he might be the 3rd best receiver in this class.

Ok, let me explain how these ranks came about. First, you are given the numerical value of the pick used (Jameis Winston was drafted #1, so 1 point). Then, where the player was drafted in reality is subtracted from that (Winston was drafted #1, so 1-1=0), undrafted players all count as if drafted #257 (one spot after the last pick). Next, the number of All Pros is multiplied by 100 and added to score (Winston has 0. 0x100=0. 0+0=0). Then, Pro Bowls are multiplied by 25 and added to score (Winston has 1 pro bowl. 1x25=25. 0+25=25). Then, years as a starter is multiplied by 10 and added to score (Winston has 3. 3x10=30. 25+30=55), years started counts if a player started 9 or more games in a season at their position. AV is then added to the score (Winston has a career AV of 33. 55+33=88). Finally, the GM receives a 100 point bonus for having gotten pick correct (Winston was picked #1 in both drafts. 88+100=188). All player scores from a team are added together and then divided by the number of players drafted by the team (Tampa Bay accumulated a total score of -104 on 8 picks. -104/8=-13). Tampa Bay's final tally was -13, good for 23rd best.

Also, there were 4 picks that were not completed (Arizona, 2; New England and Cincinnati). With this in mind, those teams had their pick position points removed for that pick, but the negative for an undrafted player remained (Cincinnati did not pick #238, so instead of 238-257=-19, they were awarded 0-257=-257 for that pick).

Interesting notes:

Over 1/4 picks that were chosen by the GMs in the draft went undrafted during the real draft (70) with Tampa Bay, Seattle and Cleveland being the biggest offenders with 5 each. Tampa Bay had the largest percentage of their picks undrafted at 62.5%. The earliest pick used for an undrafted player was round 1 pick 18 by Kansas City (La'el Collins). Seattle had the worst round, with all three of their 4th round picks being undrafted. Dallas, New Orleans and Chicago were the only teams that didn't draft an undrafted player.

On just individual score - the best pick of the draft was Todd Gurley to Dallas with the 27th pick (227 points). The worst pick was La'el Collins to Kansas City with the 18th pick (-206). The best late round pick (rounds 5-7) was Frank Clark to the Jets with pick #223 (183 points).

Less picks usually helped. Of the teams with 7 or fewer picks - only Tennessee finished outside the top 20, with 2 of the top 3 teams having 6 or fewer (St. Louis and Dallas). Only Washington (7) and Denver (12) finished in the top 20 with 10 or more picks, Baltimore (21), Houston (25), Seattle (29) and Cleveland (32) did not. Seattle had the most picks (11) while Dallas (5) had the fewest.

The Patriots will no longer participate in any draft. The proof is in the pudding. Success breeds contempt. We will only sign free agents and kids that no one else will draft.

The SportsHoopla premise is that this is one place where Patriot Haters can get revenge because their teams can't on the field.

Waste of time to participate. 1 vote in two years.

See one of you NFC teams in 2019......................in the Super Bowl.
