Pretty big NFL day. The Josh Norman news is stunning but I see where Carolina is coming from although idk why not try a trade first. Norman is 29 and absolutely not worth what he is asking for. There are only two corners on NFL rosters over 32. Also Carolina plays a zone scheme so he is more replaceable than Kawan Short who they have to pay huge bucks coming up.
Philadelphia has been sent a text.
Tampa Bay is finishing up a deal with Josh Norman making their 2016 draft even more AWESOME!!!
ummm, @mcnabb7542, Robinson was your 5th round pick....
Hey, I get it, sometimes you just really like a shit-ton of booze!
I dunno dude...29 yrs old and wanting top dolla. He's a baller, but I think is asking too much.
Yeah just building Dline depth as they had run trouble last year. He would have no pressure and hopefully improve in the wings behind Suh.@FlyerFinFan
Gotsis, from Tech is not a bad shot in the dark at this stage of the draft...not a great athlete, but a tough, gritty, hard working player...injuries really kept him from being a little higher level prospect.
I agree, it's a lot to ask for but with a young team with some cap space I think we can make a move on say a 6 year deal with a base salary lower than what he's asking with incentives to make that up... If it doesn't work by the time our young players step up we can move on... I think it's a solid move bringing in somebody who could possibly dominate and teach our young prospect Kalan Reed...
Doesn't he have a reputation of being a prima donna in the lockerroom? If that's correct, is he gonna wanna be a mentor to other players?
I think you gotta have that mentality on the island on both sides of the ball... WR and DBs need to believe they are the best even if they aren't... Richard Sherman is an ass but I'd pick him every chance I got... Norman isn't Sherman, but last year he was top 5 for sure... It's a crap shoot that he got lucky but if he can match last years production this team has a chance to be a playoff team for sure when you look at the total sum of its parts... I will say all of you who aren't sold on him could be right on, but he would be a swing for the fence... If we strike out on him, we move on there isn't much invested in him outside of money... And although you don't want to waste money, sometimes gambles pay off...
I knew Sherman was gonna come up - and Sherman is an ass in the media (though he's toned that down a lot since he got his big contract) - but he's locker room gold. I'm just saying that signing him as a player is one thing - but expecting him to be a mentoring force for younger players may not be a good reason to sign. Hell, I almost wish Seattle had the cap space to see a Sherman/Norman/Thomas/Chancellor DB field for just 1 season.
