i wonder if Oregon could actually win enough to get to that game..
HA
HA
If nebraska wins out...Outback it is assuming they don't win the conference.
most likely - Foster Farms Bowl against ASU or UCLA
If we made it to the Outback that would be one of the most incredible turnarounds for a team in quite a while.
wins over 2 top 10 teams would get us ranked again too
just saying
Iowa should be undefeated and probably 8th or something when we play them
Should be.
We just gotta get better against the pass by the time those 2 games roll around.
what's the 3 way tie breaker rules?Nah we can't win the West now.
We'd need Wisconsin to drop 2 more and Iowa to lose one they're not supposed to. And we'd have to win out of course.
I think the 1st one is missing "in conference play".1. The records of the three tied teams will be compared against each other.
2. The records of the three tied teams will be compared within their division.
3. The records of the three teams will be compared against the next highest placed teams in their division in order of finish (4, 5, 6, and 7).
Funny how prior to Saturday everybody (not pointing fingers, just in general) was throwing in the towel on this season. Now after ONE win we are talking possible bowl matchups and what it will take to possibly still win the West. I'm just as guilty. But let's string together a couple of wins in a row then see what happens. I would not be surprised in the least if this team comes out and lays an egg against Northwestern. But here's to hoping they don't.
BTW, there is no way fucking possible we still win the West. If we do, I promise to quit drinking. And that aint happening.
Well said.
How much of the Bopleeny "can't handle success" still permeates this program? For all we know the players heads will be in the clouds all week, as opposed to being on the task at hand on Saturday.
look....Bopleeny is 3-3 this year...he can handle success

STUFF JACKSON and force Northwestern to pass. Should work. WIN WIN WIN.
Right now, my best case scenario is 6-6 for Nebraska.
For me, Northwestern, Purdue, and Rutgers are possible wins; Iowa and Michigan State are probable losses. If Nebraska does beat Northwestern, hopefully they don't look past Purdue to the game with Michigan State. Then there is the bad news with Carroo coming back for Rutgers.
Miscellaneous odds and ends
Passing Offense rankings of teams Nebraska has played and will play
Southern Mississippi 13th WIN
Miami 19th LOSS
BYU 27th LOSS
Illlinois 38th LOSS
Wisconsin 47th LOSS
RUTGERS 48TH
South Alabama 55th WIN
MICHIGAN STATE 60th
PURDUE 77th
IOWA 81st
Minnesota 91st WIN
NORTHWESTERN 119th
The stud receivers
Southern Mississippi Michael Thomas 23rd in receptions Casey Martin 76th WIN
Miami Rashawn Scott 48th in receptions Herb Waters 75th LOSS
BYU LOSS none in the top 100 but MItch Matthews is tied for 13th in TDs(he caught the game winner)
Illlinois Geronimo Allison 16th in receptions LOSS(he caught the game winner)
Wisconsin Alex Erickson 43rd in receptions LOSS (he had 7 catches fro 113 yards)
RUTGERS none in the top 100 but Carroo is a TD machine, he has only played in four games yet he is tied for 4th in TDs
South Alabama Josh Magee 66th in receptions WIN
MICHIGAN STATE Aaron Burbridge
PURDUE do not have a stud receiver
IOWA do not have a stud receiver
Minnesota KJ Maye WIN, Maye played well against Nebraska (11 catches for 94 yards)
NORTHWESTERN do not have a stud receiver
From this I deduce that a team with an adequate passing offense and a stud receiver has a good chance to beat Nebraska. Carroo from Rutgers fits into that category.
Purdue, Iowa, and Northwestern do not. The Iowa defense puts that game into jeopardy for me.
Michigan State, I wish Nebraska was playing them this week, their team is on cloud 9 and susceptible to a loss. Indiana is getting that opportunity.
