Ex-Northwestern player says coach Pat Fitzgerald 'failed' by not stopping hazing

A former Northwestern football player who came forward with allegations of widespread hazing within the program spoke Sunday with university president Michael Schill, who is considering harsher discipline for coach Pat Fitzgerald.

Don't know if these allegations are true, but if they determine that they are Fitzgerald is out of a job. If he knew about it definitely, but how is 'I had no idea what was going on' going to help his cause?

Ideally, there needs to be a big man on campus in that locker room to kick the shit out of anybody who gets out of line by trying that hazing bullshit.

Sounds like ol' Pat is the least of their issues.

And - that ain't all.

How many players will elect to transfer? Although the NCAA allows transfers when a coach is changed, are there any players who would find a home on a Power Five team this late? I'm sure there are quite a few that might hook onto a team outside the Power Five.

That locker room will be a mess for those staying.

It looks bad. There are upwards of 20 player athletes involved in the lawsuits with various sports, and the list will keep growing of plaintiffs.

Tons of phone calls, texts, emails, and eyewitness testimonies are starting to add up.

Some of the victims of the weird sexual shit were under the age of 18 freshmen as well.....that adds a whole extra layer of bad news for NW.

The alumni better be prepared to write a giant check to someone soon. The Lawyers are circling the corpse.

This is truly appalling stuff - how the fuck is this allowed to happen at a college? Hazing and bullying has absolutely no place in sports at any level, it’s disgusting that people do this and it’s even more disgusting that coaches allowed and encouraged this crap. Unfortunately there are too many meathead coaches who believe abuse is the way to go. Northwestern needs to clean house and fire everyone, and hopefully this serves as an example that hazing is not okay. Given that all of this crap was going on, it’s not surprising Northwestern has sucked so badly lately. Everyone involved in this should be fired and should never coach again. As I said, appalling.

Whatever happened to normal hazing. Aka nothing sexual
