Eagles fans boo at anything, though they are giving up good returns. Reminds me, has anyone seen this?

Smalls, you've got to delete the "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=" part of that youtube link.

Yeah I messed that up, my first attempt at posting a video. It won't let me edit right now either. My bad. You can see it now anyway.

When will these coaches learn not to call timeouts to ice the kicker?

So Coughlin said he regrets his decision to kick the 54 yard FG w/ 15 seconds t' go rather than try to get a little closer. I was saying the same thing before they kicked it. You can't get a few yards & get out of bounds in 15 seconds? That might be enough time to line up & spike it even if they went over the middle.

It was 3rd & 19! So the only way he could have used the spike is if they got a 1st down. Thus, anything over the middle that didn't result in a first down would have been very risky. Coughlin was forced to play the odds of getting less than 19 yards and setting up for a FG without stopping the clock in 15 seconds.

Or, picking up a 3rd & 19 then getting down field and spiking the ball. Or, hitting a 5-7 yard out route which would have been very risky due to coverage, any running play would have been risky as well. Or gamble on the odds of hitting a 54 yard FG - Not matter which decision he made there was significant risk.

It was 3rd & 19!

Oh, I stand corrected. I was having the last drive described over the phone, and I thought it was 2nd down.

Notwithstanding, I think they should have ran a bootleg or something. 15 seconds is plenty of time to pick up maybe 5-10 yards. I like the odds of gettting 5 yards & going out of bounds over the odds of making a 54 yard FG.

In a normal situation I might agree - In that situation you would have to run the boot to the wide to insure gaining yards and/or getting OOB. The Eagles would have been in a one-press coverage and tight on the lines & sticks.

Not saying the opportunity wasn't there - just sayin the Eagles would have been defending the clock as much as the play which would have made success much more difficult in that situation.
