No tailgating at this years Super Bowl? Tailgating is a part of football.

I hope this is the last time we do this New York/Jersey Super Bowl experiment. Combine this with shitty weather and I say never again. They should alternate the Super Bowl between Arizona, San Diego, Miami, Tampa. Nice weather and less drama.

No tailgating is lame. So is a freezing cold outdoor SB. Seems like an incentive for new stadiums though. Hosting the game that is. Doubt we see another NY/NJ held Super Bowl for decades. If it were ever to be in one location, Id pick New Orleans. But it won't be in one location so my pick is rather pointless.

SAY WHAT?!!?

That is wrong on so many levels, but then again it is the SUPER DULL, how many true tailgate fans are able to attend the, ahem, BIG GAME?

I would throw New Orleans in my list of Super Bowl venues.

Weather is real football. Restricting it to warm weather is bullshit.

They want their fans to make it to the game and not freeze to death outside. They want them to do that in the Stadium.

Save the crap weather for the respective championship games. I want to see these guys play on a fast track in a controlled environment. Not to mention, it sucks for the fans. Call me a pussy, but I would rather be in a tee shirt and jeans rather than 12 layers of clothing.

You're a pussy :thumb:

Seriously, though, deal with it. Football in a dome doesn't compare to football in the snow. It should be required to be played in the snow, with snow machines pumping in snow if it doesn't happen naturally.

I knew someone was going to pop off with that.:finger:

One question to your second point about football should be required to be played in the snow. Why?

I makes as much sense as restricting it to a dome.

I didn't think you had a good reason.

Did you look at my list? Not one dome team. AZ is a retractable dome. If you include New Orleans, one dome.

Because I don't really believe that. But it makes as much sense as restricting it to warm weather. It really does.

Football is played in variable weather and deciding the weather for the championship is absurd.

I hate when people say that they wouldn't enjoy the game in the cold. Guess what... you don't HAVE TO GO. Plenty of people enjoy cold weather games and will have a blast at the game. Enough to fill a 70,000 seat stadium too.

two Florida locations should not be the case if you went rotating. I'd see something like this.

San Diego, Arizona, Dallas, New Orleans, Miami.

No kidding, I"m sick of the weather arguments against cold weather games too. Some of the most memorable games EVER are memorable exactly for the weather they were played in. It adds a very important element to the game.

As far as I"m concerned the super bowl should still be about the game, not all the fluffy bullshit that accompanies it. I get that it helps support the game i love, but they don't have to cater to it. It can be a part of it and if they don't like the weather or the conditions tough shit, because the game isn't about them, it's about the game and weather has always and should always be a part of the game.

oh, and not allowed to tailgate?? That's lame

I agree with the "memorable games" point (to an extent) and the "fluffy bullshit" point, but how does having the Super Bowl in a warm climate make it not about the game?
