What's the focus of your paper? Is there a central theme you're trying to tackle or just how all those issue compound for the kids?

My thesis statement:

"Births to unwed mothers, especially among the low-income population, is extremely harmful to a child’s well-being because, it increases the likelihood of the child developing serious health issues, intensifies behavioral issues, and increases the chances that the child will live their entire lives at or near the poverty line."

I probably shouldn't whine so much. I've only been back in school for a month and this is my first research paper in nearly 20 years. I'm just so used to reading history books and science fiction/fantasy - some of these writings are pretty dry.
