Anybody got a status update on Bryce Love?
I was under the impression that he was going to be available mid season.

what about Reuben Foster?

I was wondering the same chill. Is he still hurt? Does the coaching staff like their guys and in this case just let sleeping dogs lie? Two years without football is a long time. :noidea:

As Foster didn't make the final 53 man roster before WFT placed him on Injured Reserve. The only way Foster sees the field in 2020 is if WFT releases him from Injured Reserve which would allow him to sign with a team and play in 2020. Also Foster is in the last year of his 4 year rookie contract and since the Skins didn't exercise the 5th year option of his rookie contract. After the 2020 season is over Foster will be free to sign with a team. Had the Skins picked up his 5th year option they would've owed Foster 10.89 million dollars or thereabouts as that's what the salary is expected to be for LBs on a 5th year option contract for the 2021 season.

My personal belief on Love is he's finished, but I'm not sure if I'm properly remembering him from college. If I am though, he's a one cut n get up the field runner who didn't have a lotta wiggle and once in open field. Always tried taking runs outside with a stutter step freezing a defender and trying to get wide.

On one hand that's true. On the other hand, we been doing this shit at least since 2003 or so. How many of these type players have ever worked out? Maybe its time to stop this bullshit and get some people in here that know WTF they're doing come draft and free agency time.

I'm tired of waiting on guys who seem permanently hurt (Foster, Love) Or on neverending suspension (Tavarious Jackson) Or whatever other reason (Jarvis Jenkins, Sultan McCullogh(sp)) etc. We must lead the league signing players that don't work out somewhere else hoping they will work out here.

Fuck........I hate Daniel Snyder right now.

doesnt cost us anything . foster wont get a big deal at all and love costs about 600,000 from a 4th round flier pick most 4th rounders are out of the nfl in 3 yrs

It must cost something, but that's really besides the point and not the most correct question imo. The correct question should be, what's it benefitting the Skins? And the most correct answer to that far as I can see is nothing.

I'm thinking who is the most successful player the Skins have acquired in this manner. I come up with 1 name. Junior Galette. With the team for 3 seasons and his entire contribution was what? No starts, 3 sacks and 20 tackles in 3 seasons 2 of which were completely ruined due to injury.

The Redskins have also failed to develop key prospects, watching them flourish for other teams. Linebacker Preston Smith, for example, was a 2015 second-round pick who is now having a career year with the Green Bay Packers.

From 2010 to 2015, the Redskins drafted 52 players — and only seven of them received a second contract from Washington, according to NFL analyst Warren Sharp. Thirty-four of those players are out of football or are now free agents.

Smith had a good season last year. This year not so much.

Smith has 1/2 sack for the year.

I agree with the 2010 to 2015 era of letting too many players go.
