Sure. "Not that kind of hit" is the answer. He can hit batters, walk guys, even throw 27 wild pitches and commit fielding errors, letting runs score -- and still preserve a no hitter.

A good no-hitter is impressive, but there are shitty versions. That's why the perfect game is the true gold standard.
