Nice to see some pitchers duels in this era of postseason pitcher usage. I was a bit surprised to see Wainwright even make the postseason roster, but he looked good tonight.

Every out our starting pitcher can give us greatly increases our chances of winning. It's better than it was earlier in the year, but the pen is still the biggest weakness of this team.

Fried pitched 3 out of 4 days, so I think he was a little tired tonight, but I still think he should have made the rotation for this series. The best start of his career came in Busch Stadium.

The big question if the Braves win the series is if the Cards offense was bad or the Braves pitching was good.

We were 22nd in OPS and 25th in Total Bases heading into the playoffs. Generally playoff teams are top 10 in those stats and if they're a pitching team at worst they're still in the top half.

Fried pitched 3 out of 4 days, so I think he was a little tired tonight, but I still think he should have made the rotation for this series. The best start of his career came in Busch Stadium.

At first he was likely gonna start game 4, but then Martin got hurt in the pen, so it kind of forced our hand.

Julio Teheran, who wasn't on the original roster might start tomorrow. Haven't heard for sure if it's gonna be Julio or Keuchel.

Yeah, Julio took Martin's roster spot.

It's always worst case scenario for me until it's not. It's a defensive mechanism I use to try to keep from getting my hopes up. You know the history of the only two teams I really give a shit about.

Fried probably will be for emergency use only tomorrow. He's pitched in every game this series, and pitching in 4 out of 5 days would be asking a lot for a starting pitcher.

If I had to guess, Julio gets the start, but has a very short leash, and Keuchel comes in if Julio struggles. Josh Tomlin is also in the pen, and he can go multiple innings and has playoff experience.
