Carpenter hits a ball to LF and a run scores to tie it at 3 all, but then Wong runs into an out also trying to score.

I'm not sure why someone couldn't have signed to Wong and tell him he wasn't going to have enough time to score.

In hindsight yes, but it took a perfect throw to get him. A lot of people will take those odds.
