I thought Garopollo looked just OK. He was 9 for 19. Of course it didn't help that a receiver dropped a touchdown pass and Celek dropped three other passes all on his own.

I really liked what I saw from Alfred Morris and the new receiver, James. He might make the team but since Pettis was a high draft pick he'll have one spot locked up so there may not be room for James.

To the shock of no one but our semi-retarded FO, Jimmie Ward is hurt and will be out for a while. Good thing we guaranteed him 8.5M, right guys? This will be something of an intelligence test for our FO--we'll see with Armstead if they learned anything from the Ward debacle, as in let's hope they're smart enough to cut Armstead loose in the offseason before his option becomes fully guarnateed.

Grop would've looked a lot better if not for 4 or 5 dropped passes. 1 was a TD, 1 was a 1st down in the redzone, and another was a 3rd down conversion. Smh.

Alfred Morris. Was the COlts run D just that bad or is Morris showing our other RBs how it's done? Alf looked good out there. 85 yards rushing and he didn't even play the whole game.

Looking like Richie James will make the team at the bottom of the WR roster. He's a small guy, but he plays like he's 6'2, 210 and pissed off. Fearless.

Speaking of the bottom of the roster, Hikutini appears headed to the PS. The other TE, Wick, has gotten a lot more PT.

Jimmy G played okay. The stat line was meaningless. There were alot of dropped passes that should have been caught, even a sure TD. He had a couple of bad throws, one where he did not see the safety and the pass should have been picked off.

I don't get keeping Ward on the roster. He is brittle. I think with Alfred Morris and the running game it is combination of the two. I think Indy's run game isn't good but when you watch Morris run, he has good vision and decisive. We barely saw McKinnon this preseason. Joe Williams and the other RBs just aren't very good. I watched some game analysis of Williams and while the run blocking was not very good, there were holes he missed on some of his runs where he could have picked up yardage and didn't.

That's why I said "just OK" in regard to his performance. In my opinion, however, there were two passes that could have been picked.

Garoppolo had 5 drops, and only 1 pass of his could've been picked off. The other one that others mention was nothing more than a pass break-up. Of course....if the receivers did their job in the first place, those other attempts that led to that near int and pass break-up don't occur. SF should've had another 100 yards or so of passing as well as 2 TD's. Still....I'd say it was an OK performance by JG.

Besides....how can we really tell anything given the Colts are terrible. Based on that game alone, you'd almost think Morris made the team. Both Garnett and Armstead had beastly games....I'd like to see that routine, and against better competition. Ward is a dead man walking....he's got his guaranteed money and unless they can truly get a better player at this point, might as well keep him for depth. At least the injury bug has slowed considerably since week 1 of PS.

I am going to rewatch part of the game. I think at least one TD pass was dropped maybe too? I remember Hukitini dropping one and maybe Bourne?

If Bourne holds onto the pass, it's 1st and goal at the Colts 3 or so. Of course, if Celek holds onto the pass previous to that 4th down play, I think he may just walk in for the score.

As long as pass protect stays consistent, JG will be good. Granted the run game will need to be decent too, but just keep guys off JG. This also includes the TE and RB, help with protection when you're called on.

I liked the decisive way Morris ran. We'll see what he has left though when the games start counting for real.
