Stance: Goofy
Seems that the BlueJackets are hosting a round robin tournament of U18 Majors. Teams that were there:
AAA Jackets
Pittsburgh Elite Penguins (Including Ray Shero's son. I think I saw Ray in the stands)
Detroit Belle Tire (?)
Buffalo Junior Sabres
Plymouth Whalers
Cleveland Barons
I tell you what, the future of USA Hockey is... Big. And Physical. It was pretty amusing to watch my son and his teammates watch the OT period between Pittsburgh and Detroit. Especially when one kid absolutely plastered another right in front of them. One of our kids was leaning on the boards when they hit. He fell on his tuckus.
Oh, and my son got a standing ovation for a seriously broken play. Kid shot it, and his D man tipped it. It re-directed under his arm, but he got enough of it to slow it down. Then, ala that God Damned Hasek guy, he rolled back, swung his arm, just catching the puck with the paddle of his stick as it rolled for the line. Just poked it out and another kid shot it right into his midsection and he covered.
Shame the feeling didn't last. Lost 5-4. Not bad when you face, on average, 12 breakaways a game. I gotta move him to a different league. We had nine kids show up today.
