With more NHL players suing the league for concussions, we're well on our way to catching up to the NFL in that regard.
According to a TSN's Rick Westhead article, the latest lawsuit claims NHL officials are aware of the dangers of head trauma but downplay those risks. Former players charge the league markets and profits from extreme violence.
I say, let's get rid of the Robocop equipment (rigid shoulder and elbow pads) and we'll see head injuries decrease dramatically.
Does the NHL have the will to do it? Don't think so. Only when it stars costing them millions in compensation will they see the light. Until then .... bring on lawn bowling!
