staying in the box for the whole penalty makes no sense. so basically an accidental high stick that counts for 4 minutes is almost as bad as punching someone in the face without them agreeing to fight.

i think the choosing your faceoff opponent is kind of interesting.

i think overtime should be a 10 minute 4 on 4 overtime followed by a shootout.

I believe they did this back in the day, but they should have 4 on 4 hockey during fighting majors. 5 minutes of 4 on 4 hockey. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think they changed this rule because Gretzky and the Oilers were just too good at it.

I think you're right...As well, when the Oil had a man advantage, they would try to get someone (usually Semenko) to draw a coincidental minor with an opposing player in order to turn a 5-on-4 into a 4-on-3.

Off the top of my head I wouldn't mind that again.

What is hybrid icing?

I believe it something like this:

puck gets iced. players are racing for it.
- if the defensive player get to an earlier line (eg. at the face-off dots), then the whistle is blown for an icing.
- if the offensive player gets to that line first, he can pursue the puck (normal puck battle).

it doesn't really take away those close-call battles, but it prevents a forechecker from coming in behind the defender and doing damage.

Thanks. That sounds pretty good to me.

Here's a list of some of the prospects that will be attending. I couldn't find the complete roster but stumbled across the list of players from the QMJHL. For the first time in a while it could be a strong year for the Q at next year's draft.

Welcome on the official QMJHL web site
