Maybe the NHL should adopt what the WHL is doing and let the team that finishes 1st overall in each conference be able to select the wildcard card team they want to face in the opening round of the playoffs?

Negative. Plus, the Kings are still two points out of the final playoff spot. They might get there, but it is certainly not guaranteed.

true but they do have a game in hand v the jets and the ROW tiebreaker ... plus jets will be without buff down the stretch ... Im marking the Kings down for a playoff spot (in pencil)

Most of these games are meaningless to me, other than I don't want the Kings to face the Ducks. I would rather the Flames or Jets beat the Ducks in the first round so my wife won't blame me as I fake like I am sorry they lost
