Flames need to bounce back from a bad performance against Carolina. 3 hours north, Edmonton faces an Eastern Conference opponent, thus look for an Oilers victory tonight :D

Flames shouldn't have too much of a problem tonight - I don't think the Coyotes are a very good team - that being said, first game back home, beware

Smith has played well the past few games. The problems Arizona has are up front. They don't have a single player the other team really needs to worry about every time he has the puck. They need to trade Yandle for some offense. Unfortunately their GM seems clueless about this.

:tsk:

Not that it would surprise me with the way the Sens have been playing the last few.

I sure like the Sens 'Kid' line, Kenny, Hoffman, Stone, and Lazar look very good.

They sure do.

I had serious doubts about Stone as recently as last year. His skating just held him back. But he's put in the work and gotten his skating to a level that lets him get to the right spots on the ice. His smarts and hands are top-notch. Looking now like he has a pretty high ceiling.

Lazar is just awesome. He'll never be a point-per-game player but I'd bet he'll be an NHL captain at some point. I see his peak being somewhere between a prime Mike Peca and a prime Mike Richards. Non-stop hustle with this kid.

Hoffman is a weird case. He couldn't crack a lineup in the OHL, went to Q, worked on his game and eventually won CHL player of the year honours. In the AHL he put up 25 points in 74 games his first season. a couple of years later he put up 67 points in 51 games before being called up. He seems to take a while to adjust to every league and then go on to score a tonne. I don't think he'll ever dominate in the NHL like he has in every other league but I think he'll end up as a consistent 20 goal scorer. His skating and shot are just too good for him NOT to score goals in the NHL, IMO

Hoffman with a great release beats Scrivens.

Scrivens probably wants it back.
