And since they are playing tonight, time for another of my pet peeves.

Why do the announcers always call him "Connor Brown"? Never "Brown", always "Connor Brown". Almost as annoying as "18 year old Sam Bennett".

They do this to Pekka Rinne also. Its always "Pekka Rinne", never "Rinne". So much so that I once mentioned "Rinne" to my wife and she said who? When I said "you know, Pekka Rinne", she said ohhhhhh, him.

/then again, the only other player my wife knows is "Chara". And now "Matthews". She actually called him "Connor Matthews" on Saturday. #whatchagonnado

Yeah. they do that all the time with Rinne.

I remember watching a Coilers game last year and they kept saying Pakarinen and it sounded almost the same. Kinda made me a few times before I got it.

I wonder if that commonality is part of the reason for the use of both names? I suspect it's at least partly the case.

I think the amount of games that Rinne has played over the past few seasons combined with the hip surgery he had all means that there's not much tread left on those goalie's tires.

That is all of it, right there. Rinne had really great lower body rotation and all of his movement drove off his lower body (hips and knees). Probably why the hip gave out, and he has nowhere near the flexibility and mobility he used to. He has to rely on reflexes and his always were just slightly above average.

I worry about Bob with that. He has a lot of lower body rotation also.

I will give the Preds Korpisalo and Tabasco if they give us Joey back. They can have Prout and Johnson too.

I'm pretty sure the Ducks/Kings game is going to a shootout tied at 0.

Can't speak to inside the arena, but it is on the giant board outside the arena on the side of the Nationwide garage here. I would imagine it is being shown inside the concourse quite liberally.

The Colonel/Bieska fight was better than the Boll one.

Find video of what led up to it - Bieska was on the ice for a face off chirping at Clifford the whole time and even motions for him to get on the ice, the puck drops and before the Kings guy even hops the boards and Clifford comes out to fight, the gloves have been discarded.

I gotta give Bieksa some credit here, in the past he's been more of a spot picker, but he took on a big hombre in 'The Colonel' and I have to give the decision to Bieksa.
