NHL Board Tournament Playoffs Round 2 Week 3

First game faces off at 12:30 pm on February 12, 2011, this means picks are due no later than 12:15 on 2/12. Round 2 of the playoffs is best 2 of 3 weeks against your one opponent. The points will be the same as in the regular season with three points for regulation win, 2 points for an OT or SO win, 1 point for an OT or SO loss, and 0 for a regulation loss. From here on out in addition to picking the winners of every game you must also supply the total number of goals scored in all game for that Saturday to use as a tie-breaker. The person closest to the number would win in the event of a tie. If the tie-breaker does not settle the winner, the winner will be the home team for the game. The higher seed will be the home team in week 1 and 3 in a three game series. When we go to a five game series the higher seed will be the home team in games 1, 2, and 5. If a game goes to a shootout the shootout will count as a goal scored ie: Boston 4 Montreal 3 SO would count as 7 goals.

Where's the update dboy? Did RangersReds03 not make any picks? If so that suck's. Maybe we should think of a contingency plan in the future. It doesn't seem right that most people have to earn their way there and some get a free pass because a player didn't pick.

Don't know what the solution is but there must be a way to work around it.

Well last year when I ran this in the swamp all you had to do was make picks in the first round for the most part to get a win. This was because so many people signed up then didn't make picks. If you remember I asked for 16 and did the whole thing playoff style, having longer series. My solution was to have a regular season this year to weed that sort of stuff out and for the most part in the playoffs it has worked. I think in the first round I had one missed pick and the second round had three missed picks, unfortuneatly two happened in the final week of round two and were against each other, meaning someone had to go on. I am always open for suggestions on how to improve from year to year.
