Just before SKA - Carolina game it was announced that NHL and KHL finally signed an agreement to respect each other's contracts.

Among other announcements:
- Alex Mogilny became a vice-president of KHL.
- NHL is still undecided on participation in 2014 Winter Olympics
- Starting next September there is going to be a World Cup for 6 best teams from Russia, Canada, USA and 3 Europian teams (to be decided later). The tournament will be held in St. Petersburg (Russia)
- There isn't going to be a Europian league. At least for now.

Point 1 - Good for Almo
Point 2 - Bettman/Daly continue to be dooshnozzles - The players want to go, the fans want to see it, it's going to happen.

/Thanks for this update, MM213 - rep on the way

I'm looking forward to the World Cup. presumably that will be in the summer, like the old days?
Hopefully bettman won't use that as excuse to bow out of the Olympics though.

we do need a new trophy though. That Ghery one sucked.
I love the "WTF is this" look on Jebus' face.

Hey MM213, how is Nabby doing in the KHL?
He is doing OK. Still adjusting to bigger rinks, different type of game (less shooting, more passing - not as predictable).
He let in 5 or 6 in his 2nd game there, but was good (not stellar) since then.
Played today in win against Carolina.

I heard Kasparaitis is the head coach for SKA. Once I found that out I wasn't surprised when I heard Staal was taken out of the lineup after two periods because Paul Maurice thought Kaspars players were going for his knees.

"signed"?
as in "ink on paper, enforceable contract, with consequences"?
not a handshake and a wink?
...interesting...
