Ryan Johansen with #23 on the season. Jackets up 1-0 after 1.

Kid is having a very nice season (in a few years, he'll be wearing the 'C').

Dunno, a lot of good choices. If I were a betting man, I'd say it will be Dubinski for a few years, then Ryan Murray for a decade.

This line with Johansen, Jenner and Horton is dynamic. I need to come up with a name, though.

BooRyNat? Jennhanston?

wings farm system is really starting to shine now that ken holland and babcock have finally moved on from their deadweight veteran fetish

amazing turnaround defensively tonight by the entire team minus kindl (What the hell has happened to him this year)

I guess in the post-game presser Torts said that David Booth was their best forward at the Joe tonight.

Me thinks, he's playing gun-shy, to afraid to play hard and it's making him hesitate, when he really could be alot more agressive. my thoughts.

My team is god awful

they are not dangerous on the rush
they are not dangerous set up in the zone
they are not dangerous on the powerplay
they are not dangerous on the penalty shot

they are not dangerous

even when they killed the 5 on 3, there was no real feeling that they would ever get one.
Lack was tremendous, but this team is shit. 2 reg wins in what, 17 now? that's hot garbage

“@BradZiemer: Torts: "We need to change the complexion of our hockey club, either with our play or with different people." #Canucks”

“@BradZiemer: More Torts: "we looked like a slow hockey team tonight." #Canucks”

That Pens-Sens game was a beaut.

Normally the Sens get fucked by the refs in this matchup but I thought they did a great job tonight, with the exception of the Turris penalty.

Pens are an excellent team right now and what a save by Fleury.

If Craig Anderson plays the way he played tonight, the rest of the season - the Sens will have a shot to get in the playoffs

:L

@The3rdSedin: "@BradZiemer: One more Torts gem: "I thought our best forward was David Booth, which is good for him. That’s not good for our team.” LOL

Most entertaining 1-1 game I've ever watched...outside of the postseason ones. Anderson was great tonight. Just fantastic.

Anderson has been subpar all season and they still have a chance to get in the playoffs.

If he plays like he did tonight they're in. Can't expect that though.

Agreed. The pace was definitely of the playoff variety. Just great skating and passing with some quality hits thrown into the mix.

The Pens, smartly, took advantage of their last change on numerous occasions to take a territorial advantage. Cool to watch.

THIS is what an NHL game should look like.

It was a far cry from the debacle that I watched on Saturday. Restored some faith in the NHL for me.

I was happy to see a good performance from them. They've been uninspired in half of their games the past few weeks. They'd play one great one, and follow it up with a stinker. Sid's in the biggest rut of the season...meaning no points in two consecutive games. He's been invisible in the past 3 or 4 games. It's weird to see actually.

You referring to the interference penalty? Turris was doing a great job blanketing Sid all night, and others. Sometimes too good. Perhaps it caught up with him. But yeah, it was a well-called game, and both teams played solid hockey for 60+ minutes. The result could have gone either way.

Sid was definitely not the factor he usually is. The pace of the game made his game harder to play. Karlsson also played really well against him. One of the few D-men who Sid has a hard time getting a step on.

Malkin is the harder matchup for Ottawa, IMO. Methot was out against him a lot and did a good job but when Malkin is moving his feet he's almost unstoppable.

Yup. The interference penalty wasn't a good call. The Pens player started to go down before contact was initiated. There were a lot of plays like that on both sides that went uncalled. I thought it was a very weak call but the game was not decided, or interfered with, by the refs. That's all you can ask.

Unless you're playing Toronto on a Saturday. In that case you just hope one of your players won't be injured on a non-call.

The beauty of being a Pittsburgh fan...it's not too often both are off their games. Geno has been absolutely lethal this month/January. His ability to carry the puck is incredible, and when he winds it up and starts circling in the offensive zone, look out.
