What the fuck kind of groundbreaking revelations are they going to discover with knee injuries?

At least when they don't discover any new and damaging information they wont have to back out of the study.

For high tackles, probably. I was talking more about where they put their head on lower tackles.

I think they'd still get a bunch of flags tackling rugby style hitting low. Football players don't have the flexibility rugby players do because they're wearing shoulder pads & a helmet. There isn't much room to move your head, and a helmet makes your head a whole lot bigger. It's bound to hit the other player at least somewhat when hitting low. I know the rule talks about the crown of the helmet VS the facemask, but it can be a really subtle difference.

I stand by my point that they should play with softer pads and without helmets.

Head injuries were the reason they went to helmets in the first place. Guys were getting killed. I like the softer pads idea.

Most knee injuries happen when the foot is heavily planted or gets caught in the turf. Get decent fields and most knee injuries are prevented, you're already not allowed to go at the knees in a lot of engaged scenarios, and that prevents a lot, and for the rest, the player needs to be more aware of who's around them. Most of the injuries are avoidable without even considering such an absurd rule.

I like it, we solved this issue, artificial field turf with smooth bottom sneakers.
